The largest table tennis tournament was achieved by 2,048 participants in an event organized by the Baiyun Sports Bureau (China) in Guangzhou, China, on 31 March 2013. 2,336 people had registered in advance of the tournament, which was attended by the President of the ITTF, Adham Sharara, but 288 had to be disqualified as they did not turn up for some of their matches.
